Privacy policy.
Who we are.
Pikt Data Ltd, company number 17315115, registered office 20 Wenlock Road, London N1 7GU. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC195655. For anything about this policy, email [email protected].
Two different roles.
This matters, because it determines who you should contact.
Where we decide how and why personal data is used, we are the controller and this policy applies. That covers people who visit this site, people we talk to about our services, and people who hold an account on the Pikt platform.
Where we handle data on the documented instructions of a client — a risk engineering consultancy or an insurer — that client is the controller and we are their processor. This covers construction site data and claims documentation. This policy does not apply to that data. If your personal data reaches our platform through a construction site or an insurance claim, contact the organisation that engaged us. If you don't know who that is, ask us and we'll tell you, and pass your request on.
What we hold, and why.
If you sign up for Field Notes: your name, company and work email, and a record of your consent. We use it to send you updates. Our basis is your consent (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time using the link in any message, or by emailing us, and we'll delete your details apart from the minimum needed to make sure we respect your opt-out. We keep them for as long as we're sending you updates.
If you contact us about our services: your name, company, role and business contact details, and a record of our correspondence. We use it to respond and to manage the relationship. Our basis is our legitimate interest in developing business relationships in a business-to-business market (Article 6(1)(f)). We keep it for two years from our last contact with you.
If you hold a platform account: your name, business email, employer, role, credentials, permissions, and a record of your access to and use of the platform. We use it to run your account, control access, keep the platform secure, provide support, and maintain an audit record of who accessed what. Our basis is performance of our contract with you under the Platform User Terms, and our legitimate interest in securing the platform. We keep it for the life of your account and one year afterwards.
If you visit this site: technical information about your visit — approximate location, browser and device type, and pages viewed — collected in aggregate and not used to identify you. Our basis is our legitimate interest in operating a working, safe site.
Who else touches it.
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf and cannot use it for their own purposes: Attio for customer relationship management, and Cloudflare for hosting and analytics.
We share personal data with our professional advisers, or with a regulator, court or law enforcement body, where the law requires it. We don't sell personal data, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising.
Where it's held.
Personal data we hold as a controller is stored in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area.
Cookies.
This site sets no cookies — none for analytics, advertising or anything else. Our analytics are cookieless and don't identify individual visitors.
Your rights.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, object to direct marketing at any time, or ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. Email [email protected]. We respond within one month, and there's no charge.
Complaining to us.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to us, and we'd rather you did. Our complaints procedure explains what we'll do and by when.
Complaining to the ICO.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time — ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113, or Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. We'd ask you to raise it with us first so we can put it right, but you don't have to.
